Jerry Hewitt’s roles include those of design director and practice manager. During the course of his 30 year career Jerry has designed a wide range of projects across many sectors in the UK and New Zealand. Since relocating with his family in the early 90’s to New Zealand, he has maintained and continued his international work, in countries including France, Germany and Canada. In 2005 he joined SKM Wellington as a consultant, and in May 2006 took over management of SKM’s team of architects. Prior to relocating to New Zealand, he founded and headed a London-based consultancy for over fifteen years.

He is a highly skilled designer with extensive experience in the development of client-responsive, efficient and cost-effective solutions. In 2006 he led the SKM architecture team in winning the commission for the $40 million Wellington Indoor Community Sports Centre, a publicly funded project won in a competitive design process.

Jerry has special skills and expertise in cultural projects. He has designed a number of high profile museums and visitor attractions in New Zealand and overseas, and has extensive expertise in the design of interactive multi-media displays.

Nick Leko, ANZIA, is the co-founder of FIT Architects. In addition to his firm-wide role as principal, he has the expertise to direct a wide variety of projects. Nick returned to Wellington in 2001, following 7 years of practice with Perkins Eastman Architects in New York City. Over the past decade within some of Wellington's most notable architect practices and subsequently his own practice - FIT Architects, he has contributed towards some of Wellington's most recognisable buildings. These include the new Royal Thai Embassy (FIT Architects), the New Regional Hospital in Newtown (Craig Craig Moller Architects), the Kilbirnie Indoor Sports Centre (SKM Architects), and Vogel Campus (Craig Craig Moller Architects).

Nick’s range of experience makes him a practice-wide resource on planning, feasibility studies, design, and project delivery management. His 17 years of experience in a diverse range of complex building types have made him a sought after professional by repeat clients, contractors, and consultants, all who welcome his problem solving and collaborative manner to their projects.

Nick also contributes to the Architecture School at Victoria University in teaching design.
